Sinful Colors Nova + A Franken by My Husband!

Hi everyone!

Today is a super busy day for me...I kind of can't wait to get it over with. haha

I have a fun mani to share with you today! I found Sinful Colors Nova during the holiday season and had to have it. I have been really impressed with what Sinful has been doing lately...the formula on the newer polishes I have tried is pretty awesome. So, Nova is a deep navy blue with a greenish gold shimmer. Super pretty!

My husband (who, if you have been around my blog long enough, you know is pretty talented) was playing around with some extra supplies in our You Mix office and made this lovely creation. It doesn't have a name, but it kind of reminds me of Deborah Lippmann's Mermaid's Dream, except I like this way better! There are some sparkly pigments mixed together that have a slight color shift (greenish gold, like Nova) and some blue holo glitters in it. I love the way it complements Nova so well. Freakin' gorgeous!

I love having such a creative man around, especially when this sort of stuff is happening! haha

I want to know what you would call my husband's franken... I know you guys are awesome at this stuff!

All That Glitters Bitter Hearts Swatches

Hello!

It's been super windy and cold today...pretty nasty weather. I have some bright, glittery indies to share with you that have definitely been a bright spot in this gross day. :) They come from All That Glitters, which is one of the very first shops I purchased from last year when indies were just starting to catch on! Kirsten made an awesome collection for Valentine's day with 12 polishes. Even though Valentine's has already passed, these polishes are appropriate for any time of year. I have 6 of them to show you here, so let's get started!

This is Just Lust. This is 2 coats over China Glaze Beach Cruise-r which is a perfect match for the sheer pink base this has. I am a little reminded of OPI I Lily Love You by this.

Next is Not 2Nite. I love this one! This is pretty sheer...I did 4 coats alone. But I like the overall effect. You can totally layer this for a more opaque look too. All the glitters came out nicely....no fishing.

I Luv Me...I was pretty impressed by this one's formula. Most milky glitters take a bit to build full coverage and I almost had it in one coat! Not to mention this polish is super pretty.

Outta Here is a cool one. It's got tiny matte glitters beside the black and white combo. This is one coat over China Glaze Beach Cruise-r again. This polish would definitely benefit from a layer of topcoat to smooth everything out.

Dream On is a peachy pink nude base with charcoal and gold holo glitters in it. This one is sheer as well, but if you are going for a more low key look, it's perfect. I like the mix of something fun in an otherwise simple polish that's not too over the top.

And finally, Heart Burn. I did 3 coats on it's own. You probably see the hearts in the bottle...I tried really hard to get some out and it just wasn't happening. Regardless, I like what did come out of the bottle and onto my nails! haha

And that's it! I really loved all of these polishes for different reasons and think they are definitely worth checking out, even if Valentine's Day is over. :)

Happy Hands Nail Polish Swatches and Review

Hi polish lovers!

I have a few selections from Happy Hands Nail Polish to share with you today. Let's take a look!

First is For You, My Love..., described as a soft nude pink jelly with assorted matte and holo red glitters with a fine red/gold shimmer. This is 2 coats over white, but I think I should have used a nude instead. Either way, I love the shimmer and it's a fun polish.

Next is Motherboy described as a mix of pastel satin glitters in various colors and shapes. A very versatile and girly topper. Love it! I did 1 coat over China Glaze Fuchsia Fanatic.

This is Banana Stand,  a yellow crelly based with brown and green glitters. I did 4 coats without underwear. Definitely reminds me of a banana. :)

And finally, my personal fave, Am I Not Yours? -a teal jelly base with matte and holo glitters in greens and blues. I layered 2 coats over OPI Jade is the New Black. This glitter combo is fantastic and it is super blingy!

So there they are! Do you own any polishes from Happy Hands?

You can find the Happy Hands Esty shop *here* as well at www.happyhandsnailpolish.com and find them on Facebook *here*!

China Glaze It's A Trap-eze Layering + Where I've Been!!

Hello awesome readers!

I'm sure some of you have noticed my posting has been...well...not happening lately. I will explain why in a second but let's get to the nails first!

This is a mani I wore forever ago...last year! I had broken my pinky nail which is totally messing with the overall look here but I loved what I had put together enough to show you anyway. haha This is 1 coat of China Glaze It's a Trap-eze over Coastal Scents Lilypad, which is a minty color. It's a Trap-eze is good for layering as much as it is to wear on it's own and I love that! It made my mint creme more milky looking...I am obsessed with this combo!

Ok, so why I haven't been around...I am expecting baby #2! It still feels really weird saying that...I am 10 weeks along but it doesn't feel real. Even though I have been super nauseous and tired which made swatching and blogging more of a chore than a fun hobby. :( Luckily, the nausea has worn off over the past few days making it much easier to function. So, I am looking forward to getting back in the swing of things and I have tons to show you.

Thank you all for sticking with me and being such supportive readers! You guys are what make this blog so much fun for me. :)

Windestine Spring Collection Swatches

Hey guys!

It's been a while for me...sorry about that! :) Today I have some swatches from Windestine's newly released spring collection to share.

Leilani is a peachy shade with pastel glitters through out. This is 3 coats on it's own.

Crushed Rose is a murky light green base with an assortment of yellow and pink glitters. I layered one coat over Essie Navigate Her.

Rainy Day Blues is probably my favorite! I layered 2 coats over OPI Fly. This has so much depth to it.

And finally, a polish from Windestine's Valentine theme, When Hearts Collide. I layered one coat over Zoya Monica. The iridescent glitters are so glowy in this dark polish!

Tell me which ones are your must-haves!

This collection is available as of today and you can find Windestine's shop on Etsy *here*. Stay in the know by liking their Facebook page as well!

Selections from KBShimmer's Spring Collection

Good morning!

I have swatches from a much loved indie brand to show you today. They come from KB Shimmer's upcoming spring line!

This is A Dot Mess. I layered one coat over Color Club Pretty in Platinum. A surprise favorite of mine!

Spring Training is an automatic fave of mine. Can you guess why? Because of the lovely minty base! Mint is my weakness...love it. This is 4 coats with no underwear.

And finally, this is Where My Peeps At. This is such a fun one! The epitome of spring, I think. This is 4 coats with no underwear. Most yellow polishes are sort of difficult to apply evenly but this was no different than any other polish. Definite plus!

This is only a portion of the collection and if you are loving these then head over to the KBShimmer Facebook page to see swatches of the others done by other bloggers!

This collection is set to be out on February 15th on KBShimmer's website or at Harlow and Co. at a later date.

Tell me your thoughts on these new KBShimmers!

MeLissa Lacquer Polish Swatches and Review

Hi!

I took an unexpected break from blogging this week...oops. I guess I needed it. :)

Today I am sharing a new indie brand with you called MeLissa Lacquer! I'm just gonna get right to it:

This is From Your Valentine. I layered one coat over Orly Fresh...I am just now realizing how unflattering this color is on me! haha So if you can look past that, From Your Valentine is a pretty glitter. The flowers were very easy to place, as well.

This is the The One That Got Away. One easy coat over LCN Lilac Blossom. Such a pretty combo!

And finally, this is Spring Fling.  I layered one coat over a green jelly from Born Pretty Store. The matte glitters had some issues spreading where I wanted them but I managed to make it work. I think the end result is fun...definitely springy!

So that's it! Which ones are you eyeing?

You can see more of Melissa's creations in her Etsy shop *here*.

LCN Blossom Sorbet Collection Swatches

Hey guys!

The kids in our county got a snow day today...needless to say it's cold outside! So I have a fun little spring collection to warm it up a bit. :) It's from LCN and it's called Blossom Sorbet. How cute are these colors together?

First is Vintage Rose. This is a peachy-pink shade. I did 2 coats here.

Next is Soft Daisy. This was a tad streaky during application, to be expected with a pastel yellow. In the bottle, you can just barely see a bit of yellow shimmer. It doesn't show up on the nail at all which is too bad because it's really pretty. I did 3 coats here.

This is Lilac Blossom. Such a pretty shade! This also has the tiniest hint of silver shimmer in it. A little more obvious than Soft Daisy but not by much. I did 2 coats here.

And finally, I Love Mint. Why yes, I do! Which is why this is my favorite of the collection. What a perfect minty shade! This is 2 coats.

What do you think of the Blossom Sorbet collection?

I think it's perfect for spring and I can't wait to do some nail art with them!

These colors will be available March 15 but you can pre-order them now on LCN's website, *here*.
